Driving countless kilometers every day, we spent two weeks travelling from the Westfjords along the south coast all the way past Vatnajökull glacier to the east. Our journey was marked by typical icelandic weather; conditions which changed drastically within a matter of minutes. One episode ended up with my drone drifting several kilometers over a maze of glacial runoff in a soft breeze that turned into 80km/h strong winds. Another excursion started in bright sunshine, but quickly turned to a frantic spring back to the car as a storm unleashed on us with marble-sized hail stones.
